The first session of the second day

The first session of the second day, entitled “The current situation of Kurds and the challenges they face”, moderated by Newroz Rasho, a researcher and politician. She was also a correspondent and editor of several Kurdish and international media institutions speaking in Kurdish and Arabic.
The first Topic was delivered by an official of the political bureau of the Kurdistan National Union, Mr. Arez Abdullah, online. Abdullah focused on two pillars, the first one the political, economic, cultural and social situation in the four parts of Kurdistan, as well as on the gains of Kurds and their achievements during the last period. The another one, he noted the political role of Kurds in the fate of the policies of Kurdistan occupying Powers as well as their role in the democratic transition in the region.
Second topic was delivered by Professor of Political Science at the University of Vienna. Thomas Schmindger, talked about the challenges currently Kurds face in the four parts of Kurdistan, Schmindger also focused on two issues; The first addressed the challenges Kurdish parties and forces face . In the second issue, Schmeindger touched on foreign challenges and dominant States’ policies towards the Kurdish issue.
The session concluded with the audience’s interventions on the topic of the session and the panellists.
