First session in the first day of Lausanne Forum

entitled “Political situation in the region before the Treaty of Lausanne”. Yusuf Murshed, who faciliates the session included two topis:
First : Delivered by Professor of International Law, University of Cape Town, South Africa, Dr. Mahmoud Patel, online.
he talked about the Sykes-Picot Agreement and the history of the nation-state’s emergence in the Middle East. Patel also mentioned Lausanne’s influence on all the peoples of the region, not just the Kurdish people. He noted that the autonomous administration of North and East Syria is a gain for all the peoples of the region, not just Kurds.
Second: Delivered by Co-chair of Kurdistan National Conferene, Ms. Zainab Murad, online.
She talked about the impact of the Lausanne Treaty on Kurdish people and the geography of Kurdistan.
Thereafter, some participants took part, most of them focused on the topics of the session.
