An interview with Mrs. Ilham Ahmed

Co-chair of the Department of Foreign Relations in the Autonomous Administration

Rojava Center for Strategic Studies conducted a special interview with the co-chair of the Department of Foreign Relations, Mrs. Ilham Ahmed. During the interview, Mrs. Ahmed talked about the rapprouchment between the Damascus government and the Turkish occupation, the possibility of reaching an agreement between them, and whether Turkey might abandon the so-called the “opposition” and giving up the areas it occupies in Syria, as well as she talked about the future of northern Syria.

She also discussed the potential shifts in the 2024 U.S. elections and their possible international and regional impacts, along with their effects on U.S. foreign policy, global politics, and the situation in northern and eastern Syria.

Additionally, she covered the Syrian-Syrian dialogue and the steps taken in that direction, the Syrian people’s readiness for this dialogue, the challenges it faces, the parties involved, and how to achieve a comprehensive national dialogue to find a solution to the Syrian crisis.

She also touched on the meetings with the Syrian regime, the contentious points in these meetings, and how ready the Damascus government is for dialogue.
