Events of the second day of the Centennial Lausanne Forum

The second session was entitled “Ways to confront the war of extermination against the Kurdish people”. was moderated by Attiya Yusuf, a member of the Council for Social Justice in Aljazeera district.
The session was two sections; The first one was delivered by HDP parliamentarian Ms. Newroz Aslan online. In her speech, she talked about the importance of holding a Kurdistan national conference, focusing on two topics; The first one was the importance of convening the National Conference between Kurds and the principles of the Decade. In the second one, the lecturer focused on the importance of unifying political, diplomatic and military discourse. She referred to the experience of the liberation of Kobani as a model of the unity of the Kurdish class and its global impact.
At the second section was delivered by Co-chairman of the Democratic Union Party(PYD), Saleh Muslimi, he talked about the “Kurd Strategy in the 21st Century”. The lecture focused on two aspects; The first was about the political line that Kurds should follow, and the second aspect dealt with ways and means of building the relationship between the four parts of Kurdistan socially, economically and culturally. Muslim also pointed out the need to draw on the lessons of history in order not to repeat the mistakes of the past. The need to consolidate democratic thinking in the world therefore peoples can enjoy freedom and security, peoples can live together democraticlly, concluding “Muslim” also pointed out that there are no differences between peoples, but only regimes that make differences to ensure their continuity and permanence, and that the thinking of a democratic nation is the way to achieve unity and coexistence among peoples.
During the second session, there was a human rights hearing on the Lausanne Treaty, where a rights committee composed of a group of lawyers spoke about the Lausanne Treaty in legal terms. During the hearing, the representative of the Lausanne Treaty Legal and Human Rights Committee spoke about the legal connotations of the Lausanne Treaty’s abrogation, as well as “Lausanne”, conflicts with some international conventions on human rights and the right of peoples to self-determination.
The session also involved some online interventions , by the co-chair of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), Mr. Medhat Sengar, he talked about ways of achieving democracy in the Middle East, most notably by resolving the Kurdish issue. An intervention of Ms. Tulay Ogloller, the deputy of co-chairs of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), she talked about the conventions that had caused suffering and division of the peoples of the region.
An intervention of Simon Dabbs, president of the Confederation of British Trade Unions, and another intervention by the writer and political analyst Mohammed Amin Benguini, who spoke about the effects and repercussions of LausanneTreaty, and how to correct the course of the agreement.
The session concluded with the attendees’ interventions, which focused on the theme of the session.
